3 DAYS/2 NIGHTS LAKE MANYARA & NGORONGORO

Day 1: Arrival Day & LAKE MANYARA

Morning pickup from airport or hotel and head to Lake Manyara National Park, which is two hours from Arusha (120 km) and not far from Ngorongoro and Tarangire National parks.

The park is 127 square miles (329 km2) and the lake's alkaline waters cover approximately 89 square miles (231 km2). While most known for baboons, the lake and its surrounding area are home to other wildlife such as hippos, impalas, elephants, wildebeest, buffalo, warthogs and giraffes. You may also see the park’s famous tree climbing lions.
Accommodation: Manyara Wildlife Lodge.
Meals: Lunch and Dinner

Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater & Masai Boma

Breakfast at the lodge, followed by a drive to a Masai Boma and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

The main feature of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA) is the crater, a large unbroken, unflooded volcanic caldera. The crater formed when a giant volcano exploded and collapsed on itself some two to three million years ago. It’s 610 m (2,000 ft.) deep and its floor covers 260 km2 (100 square meters). Estimates of the height of the original volcano range from fifteen to nineteen thousand feet (4,500 to 5,800 meters) high. The crater is famous for the big 5 animals (Lion, Elephants, Rhino, Leopard, and Buffalo). Other animals you will see are Zebras, Gazelle, Wildebeest, Impalas, Hippos and different species of birds.
Accommodation: Rhino Lodge.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 3: NGORONGORO TO ARUSHA

After breakfast, enjoy one final morning of viewing wildlife on the crater rim and the stunning landscapes as you make your way out of Ngorongoro and return to Arusha town. You will have lunch at the tranquil hideaway of the Shanga Shangaa Arts Center, where handicapped artisans make extraordinary jewellery and glassware. They also serve a delicious meal! From there, you will visit the Cultural Heritage Centre, which has much more than just souvenirs for sale - you can peruse their art gallery and their Tanzanite display - a stone more precious than diamonds! Later in the afternoon, you will make your way through Arusha and transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight back home.
