This two-day safari offers an efficient, high-impact itinerary for travellers seeking the highlights of northern Tanzania. Day 1: Tarangire National Park Safari
You will be collected from your accommodation in Arusha or Karatu and transferred to Tarangire National Park. Upon arrival, your assigned professional safari guide will conduct your first game drive. Expect to encounter substantial herds of elephants, alongside giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, and numerous antelope species. Predatory species, including lions, leopards, and hyenas, are also likely to be observed. Lunch will be arranged at a scenic location, either under the shade of baobab trees or by the Tarangire River. This will be followed by an afternoon game drive through riverine forests, open savannah, and seasonal wetlands. Optional short walks are available for birdwatching or observing smaller mammals. In the evening, you will be transferred to your lodge or camp near Ngorongoro to enjoy dinner and overnight accommodations.
Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive
The following morning, after breakfast, you will depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Upon arrival, you will descend into the crater for a comprehensive game drive, with opportunities to observe lions, elephants, rhinos, zebras, buffaloes, and a wide variety of other wildlife. A picnic lunch will be served at a designated scenic spot within the crater, surrounded by the area’s dramatic scenery. The exploration of the crater floor will continue in the afternoon, with optional short walks for photography or birdwatching, as desired. After the activities conclude, you will ascend to the crater rim and be transferred back to your hotel in Arusha or Karatu, marking the completion of your two-day Tarangire and Ngorongoro safari.
