1 Day Safari: Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park (Train + Road Experience)

Dar es Salaam → Train Journey → Morogoro → Road Transfer → Mikumi National Park → Game Drive → Return
Your safari begins with an early departure from Dar es Salaam to board the modern SGR train. The train journey offers a comfortable and scenic ride through rural landscapes, farmlands, and rolling hills as you move inland toward Morogoro.
Upon arrival at Morogoro station, your safari guide will meet you and begin the road transfer toward Mikumi National Park. The drive takes you through picturesque countryside, small villages, and the edge of the Uluguru Mountain range before reaching the park.
Once inside the park, the wildlife experience begins immediately across its vast open plains. Mikumi’s landscape makes animal spotting relatively easy, offering high chances of seeing elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, and various antelope species moving freely across the savannah.
You continue exploring key wildlife zones, focusing on areas where animals gather around grazing fields and seasonal water points. With luck, predators such as lions or hyenas may be observed resting or moving through the grasslands.
After the game drive experience, you exit the park and begin your return journey back to Morogoro for the train connection or direct road transfer back to Dar es Salaam, arriving in the evening.
We handle all logistics, including transfers, accommodations, park fees, and guided tours. Our reviews highlight our reliability, knowledgeable guides, and ability to cater to special needs (e.g., vegan diets). Find out more about us here.
