1 Day Safari: Dar es Salaam to Nyerere National Park (Selous) By Car

Dar es Salaam → Nyerere National Park → Full Game Drive → Return to Dar es Salaam
Your safari begins very early in the morning with a road journey from Dar es Salaam heading southwest toward Nyerere National Park. The drive takes approximately 5–6 hours, passing through rural landscapes, small towns, and scenic countryside along the Morogoro route.
Upon arrival at the park, you enter directly into a game viewing experience across selected wildlife-rich areas. The park’s vast open plains and woodlands offer excellent chances to spot large herds of elephants, giraffes feeding on acacia trees, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, and various antelope species.
You continue exploring key sections of the park where wildlife is commonly concentrated, especially around water sources and open savannah zones. With luck, predators such as lions, leopards, and hyenas may be seen moving or resting during the day.
Depending on timing and conditions, you may also get views of the Rufiji River ecosystem, home to hippos, crocodiles, and abundant birdlife, adding another layer to the safari experience.
After the game drive, you begin your return journey to Dar es Salaam, arriving in the evening after a full day of travel and wildlife exploration.
