Your journey begins with a morning flight from Zanzibar to the Mikumi airstrip. The flight offers scenic aerial views of the Indian Ocean, coastal landscapes, and inland wilderness before landing near the park.
Upon arrival, your professional safari guide will welcome you and begin a full wildlife experience inside the park. You will explore Mikumi’s vast savannah plains and woodland areas, where wildlife is easily spotted due to the open terrain.
Expect to see large elephant herds, giraffes feeding on acacia trees, zebras and wildebeests crossing the plains, buffaloes grazing in groups, and various antelope species spread across the grasslands. With some luck, predators such as lions or hyenas may also be observed resting or moving through their territories.
The safari continues across different sections of the park, focusing on wildlife-rich zones and natural water points where animals gather throughout the day.
After the game drive experience, you return to the airstrip for your flight back to Zanzibar, arriving in the evening and marking the end of your safari adventure.
