2 Day Road Safari: Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park

Day 1: Dar es Salaam → Mikumi National Park → Afternoon Game Drive
Early in the morning, depart from Dar es Salaam by road heading west towards Mikumi National Park. The journey takes approximately 5–6 hours, passing through the scenic landscapes of Morogoro and the Uluguru Mountain range.
Upon arrival, you will check in at your lodge or tented camp near or inside the park and enjoy lunch.
In the afternoon, head out for your first game drive across Mikumi’s vast plains. The park offers excellent wildlife viewing due to its open terrain, making it easy to spot elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, antelopes, and possibly predators like lions and hyenas.
As the sun sets over the savannah, return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Morning Game Drive → Mikumi → Return to Dar es Salaam
Start the day early with a sunrise game drive when wildlife is most active. This is the best time to spot predators returning from hunting and herbivores grazing in the golden morning light.
After breakfast, enjoy a short final game drive as you exit the park, capturing your last safari moments.
Later, begin your drive back to Dar es Salaam, arriving in the afternoon or evening, marking the end of your adventure.
