On this tour, you’ll stay in elevated, classic tented accommodation, paired with nature, to offer an authentic safari experience. The elevated tented accommodations are equipped with all the necessary facilities and services to make your days in Tanzania memorable. You can expect to hear the sound of the wildlife in the distance as you drift off to sleep, and you may even see animal tracks throughout the camp.

  • Day 1: Zanzibar to Nyerere National Park

    In the morning, you’ll be picked up from your hotel in Zanzibar and transferred to the airport for your 30-minute flight to Nyerere National Park (part of the formerly Selous Game Reserve). Upon arrival at Selous Mtemere Airstrip, you will meet your driver guide and be transferred to Nyerere Tented Camp for a full breakfast. The Camp is found just a few minutes’ drive from the Airstrip.

    After breakfast, you will spend a full day of game viewing in Nyerere National Park, taking a packed lunch with you to maximise your game drive time. You will have a picnic lunch from a safe vantage point, with a chance to spot the images of your dreams, from beautiful scenery to fascinating wildlife in their natural habitats. After the extensive game drive, return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

    Nyerere Tented Camp

    Situated directly on the unfenced border of Nyerere National Park, our camp provides a seamless connection to the wild. This unique position means you are not just near the park, but truly a part of its ecosystem, with wildlife frequently passing through the camp itself. ($$)

  • Day 2: Maasai Boma Tour, and Boat Safari in the Mighty Rufiji River

    At 9:30 AM today, you will embark on a Maasai Boma tour, exploring the local area, observing the daily lives of the Maasai, and learning about their culture. After the village tour, return to the camp for lunch at 13:00.

    After the hot lunch, in the afternoon at around 15:45, depart for an adventurous and romantic sunset boat safari along the great Rufiji River. This trip offers an opportunity to spot the abundant birdlife, hippos, and crocodiles while enjoying the spectacular sundown. Your guide will also be able to point out interesting birds and plant species during this trip. After the boat safari, return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

  • Day 3: Nyerere National Park to Zanzibar Island

    In the early morning at around 6:30 AM, you will go for a bush walking tour with bushmen and see interesting plants and animal species as well as enjoy nature and landscapes. After 2 hours of walking, return to the camp for breakfast.

    After lunch, and depending on the flight time, your driver guide will take you to Selous Mtemere Airstrip for your flight back to Zanzibar Island. Once arrived at Zanzibar Airport your transfer driver will take you back to your Hotel. It’s been an amazing trip and you’ll have some incredible photos and stories to share with your friends and family back home.
