Your safari begins in Dar es Salaam, where you board a morning domestic bush flight into Nyerere National Park, one of Africa’s largest and most untouched wilderness areas.

As you land, endless bushland, rivers, and floodplains stretch across the horizon. You are transferred to your lodge or tented camp located near the Rufiji River.

After lunch and relaxation, enjoy your first safari experience: a sunset boat safari. The Rufiji River is alive with hippos, crocodiles, and rich birdlife, while elephants are often seen along the riverbanks during golden hour.

Today is dedicated to exploring the vast wilderness of Nyerere National Park. Early morning game drives take you deep into diverse habitats including open plains, woodland areas, and swampy floodplains.

Expect encounters with elephants in large herds, lions resting under acacia trees, giraffes feeding in open clearings, buffalo moving in groups, and possibly African wild dogs in more remote sections.

A picnic lunch in the bush allows you to remain fully immersed in nature before continuing your afternoon safari until sunset.

After breakfast, you transfer from Nyerere to Mikumi National Park either by short bush flight (preferred for comfort and time) or scenic road transfer, depending on package selection.

Upon arrival, you enter the famous Mkata floodplain, where wildlife is often visible immediately. After check-in and rest, enjoy an afternoon game drive.

Mikumi offers excellent visibility with zebras, giraffes, elephants, wildebeests, and lions commonly seen across the open savannah plains.

Your final day begins with an early morning game drive in Mikumi National Park, taking advantage of the cool hours when wildlife is most active.

Expect final sightings of elephants crossing roads, predators scanning the plains, and large herbivore herds spread across the horizon. After a bush breakfast or short drive, you begin your return journey to Dar es Salaam by road or flight, marking the end of your safari.
