Day 1: Dar es Salaam – Drive to Ruaha National Park
Your safari begins early in Dar es Salaam, departing by road toward Ruaha National Park. The journey passes through changing scenery urban outskirts, rural villages, miombo woodlands, and rolling hills.
As you approach Ruaha, the landscape becomes more dramatic with baobab trees, rocky escarpments, and dry river valleys signaling entry into true wilderness.
Upon arrival at your lodge or tented camp inside or near the park, you check in and relax. In the evening, enjoy a short introductory game drive where elephants, antelopes, and possibly lions may be seen as the sun sets.
Day 2: Full-Day Safari in Ruaha Wilderness
Today is dedicated to exploring the vast and untouched landscapes of Ruaha National Park. Early morning game drives take you deep into remote areas with very few vehicles.
Ruaha is famous for its large lion populations, elusive leopards resting in baobab trees, and African wild dogs roaming open plains. You may also encounter large elephant herds and buffalo groups around seasonal water sources.
A picnic lunch in the bush allows you to remain inside the park throughout the day, maximizing wildlife viewing and photography opportunities.
Day 3: Deep Game Drive + Ruaha Exploration
Begin the day with an early morning game drive when predators are most active. You explore different habitats including riverbeds, rocky hills, and open savannah plains.
The afternoon continues with a relaxed safari pace, focusing on photography, wildlife tracking, and exploring less-visited regions of the park.

Day 4: Ruaha – Drive Back to Dar es Salaam
After an early breakfast, you enjoy a final short game drive before beginning your long return journey to Dar es Salaam.
The drive offers time to reflect on the vast landscapes of southern Tanzania as you pass through rural communities and scenic countryside.
Arrival in Dar es Salaam is expected in the evening, marking the end of your short but powerful Ruaha wilderness road safari.
