Udzungwa Forest Lodge, also known locally as Hondo Hondo (Swahili for “hornbill”), is an eco-lodge nestled on the edge of Udzungwa Mountains National Park. Surrounded by lush rainforest and alive with endemic wildlife, including the Udzungwa red colobus, Sanje crested mangabey, and flocks of hornbills, the lodge offers a serene, immersive nature experience.

Accommodation includes six en suite forest tents with open-air bathrooms, locally crafted bamboo furniture, solar lighting, and views of the forest canopy. For budget travellers, five thatched bandas with shared facilities and a well-equipped campsite are available.

The lodge operates on solar energy and is committed to sustainability and community engagement.
